Telegram (for notifications to you and/or employees)
To get started with notifications via Telegram, you first need to create your own bot. This bot allows you to easily send automated notifications to your employees. Note that this feature only applies to notifications to employees, not to customers. All notifications and automated actions are managed through the Workflow module, and the Telegram add-on is used in conjunction with it.
How to get started:
- Download the Telegram app from https://telegram.org/. The app can be installed on mobile phone, tablet or computer. Follow the link for more information and download options.
- Open the Telegram app, go to “Contacts” and search for “BotFather.” Make sure you select the account with a blue verification badge. Click on this to start a chat.
- When the chat opens, you will see several commands. To create a new bot, type the command /newbot.
- Follow the instructions from BotFather to give your bot a name, such as "Alert Bot," "Business Alert," or "MyCompanyBot."
- Then choose a username for your bot. The username must end with _bot. For example: mycompany_bot
- Now your bot is ready! You will receive a token code from BotFather. Copy this and paste it into the correct place in the settings on Bookingtjeneste.no under: Settings → Integrations → Telegram bot.
- Go to “Contacts” in the Telegram app and search for the name of your bot, for example mycompany_bot. Open the chat and write a short message like “Hi”. Then type /start
- Now go to "Workflow" in Bookingtjeneste.no and create a new workflow:
– Workflow name: For example, “Booking notification Telegram”
– When this happens: For example, "New booking".
– Do this: “Send Telegram message”
– Click on “Create”. - Under "Do this," click "Change."
– In the “To” field, select your bot that is now displayed.
– In the "Message" field, enter the notification you want to send via Telegram when a new booking occurs.
– Under "Document", you can optionally add a document as an attachment, for example a receipt you have previously created under PDF documents in the main menu.
– Save the workflow. - Congratulations, everything is now ready! You will receive notifications from the system directly on Telegram.
